Federal agency OKs $1 billion Knik Arm Crossing, but other hurdles remain

The Federal Highway Commission gave approval Dec. 15 for the final environmental impact statement to the long-planned Knik Arm bridge that would connect
Anchorage with the Matanuska-Susitna Borough.

There are still hurdles for the $1 billion-plus project, however.
